THE INSTRUMENT

For this library, we recorded a classic 1947 Gibson L-5 archtop guitar (provided courtesy of the experts at Retrofret in Brooklyn, NY). The instrument was recorded acoustically using an array of vintage ribbon and tube microphones, as well as through a restored Gibson GA-50 tube amp via a floating pickup.
